I think sometimes I should switch to illustration. I think mostly this stems from a) having very little experience actually DOING what my major is b) being unsure of what exactly I will do after school if I CAN’T make my own comics. I dont want to work for someone else’s ideas, unless I really like them. and c) being more oriented towards the art than words in comics, a lot of the time. not that I don’t love well written comics. not that I don’t love books (and if I were to be honest, I want to make a comic that lives up to the feeling I have about my favorite books.) I just feel like the art is…not more important. But I think some people think of the words as being more important. And I guess I’m the opposite. If the words are that important, I don’t understand why you would make it a comic anyway. The whole awesomeness of comics is that the art helps tell the story. it’s at LEAST half as important. I’m not sure what I’m getting to with this. I guess it’s just that I wonder if I should be an illustration major to learn the stuff they teach, and then use it for my comics too. But if I were going to use it for that end, why not just stay in cartooning? I’m really passionate about it, but without ever doing it. I guess reason d) for this whole thing is not being particularly sure of what we DO as cartooning majors in the coming years. Anyway. I just wanted to write this whole thing out. I think I’m kind of less inclined to switch now, after thinking it out right here. I still kind of wonder about it, though. I’ll be kind of sad if we don’t ever paint or anything again.  (also, wtf wordpress? what can’t I figure out how to start a new paragraph? this huge-block-of-text thing is hideous.)

Uhm…. I don’t think it’s wordpress… uh, I think it’s just your compare (speaking, of course, only from the comparisons I was able to make the one time I used wordpress on your comp, so don’t take my opinion too heavily)
